Animal Services

The Animal Services Department coordinates all animal control activities within the boundaries of Pocatello and manages the animal shelter located in Upper Ross Park.
Adopt a Pet
The animal shelter is open to the public Monday through Saturday and provides educational tours and volunteer programs for all age groups. Public presentations by employees can be scheduled and written information on animal issues is available by contacting the shelter office.
Upcoming Event
Katie's Dog Park Ribbon Cutting
Come help us celebrate the opening of our new Katie's Dog Park on Saturday, October 31, 2015, at Upper Level Ross Park, just south of the Pocatello Animal Shelter at 3100 Avenue of the Chiefs. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 9:00 a.m., followed by light refreshments. Bring your dogs and let them enjoy the safe environment of a large fenced-in area to run and play with others. Lunch will be available for purchase from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Barbecued hot dogs, chips, and drinks will be served.

  • Monday - Friday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Closed on Sundays and Holidays

Monday – Friday:  7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
