Animal Services

The Animal Services Department coordinates all animal control activities within the boundaries of Pocatello and manages the animal shelter located in Upper Ross Park.
Adopt a Pet
The animal shelter is open to the public Monday through Saturday and provides educational tours and volunteer programs for all age groups. Public presentations by employees can be scheduled and written information on animal issues is available by contacting the shelter office.

Run with the Big Dogs
Register today and join hundreds of walkers who will be raising money to support Pocatello’s homeless animals on Saturday, October 3 at 11:00 a.m.! You can enter the 2K walk, 5K walk or 5K run with or without a dog or in memory of a beloved pet. Each team will receive a t-shirt for the human, bandana for the dog and a doggy bag (while supplies last) with special treats and information and refreshments. You will also be entered for a chance one of our great draw prizes!!

Animal Shelter Facility Hours
  • Monday - Friday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Closed on Sundays and Holidays

Enforcement Services
Monday - Friday: 7 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 8 a.m. - 10 p.m.
