  1. WHY ARE YOU INTERESTED IN RUNNING FOR OFFICE FOR THE CITY OF POCATELLO?
I am running for Pocatello Mayor because I care about my community and have a vision of what it can become. My campaign slogan is “Together We Make it Happen”.  I truly believe that if we implement my ideas and work together we can make Pocatello a place we are proud of and a city other communities can learn from.

  2. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT IS THE MAJOR ISSUE FACING POCATELLO?
I believe the major issue in Pocatello is workforce retention.

    (a)  HOW WOULD YOU ADDRESS THE ISSUE YOU JUST DESCRIBED?
As a community, Pocatello needs to facilitate programs that assure our young people are prepared to compete for the higher end jobs and professions that are likely to come to our area. There are programs where the community works together to provide career path educational opportunities. One such program, funded by United Way, is "Cradle to Career", but this program focuses on early learning development. I would like to see this program expanded to include all youth.

Focused education is essential to establishing our foothold on the careers that our community will see in the near future.  Businesses should not have to recruit out of our area when a ready, willing and able pool of applicants can be prepared with our enormous pool of educational resources.

  3. IF ELECTED, WHAT WILL YOUR FIRST PRIORITY BE?
I actually want to work on three items I feel are a priority; workforce retention through education, bringing a wide range of good paying jobs to the community, and funding for our city departments.
