Candidate Answers

  1. WHY ARE YOU INTERESTED IN RUNNING FOR OFFICE FOR THE CITY OF POCATELLO?
I was born and raised here in Pocatello.  Since returning home, I have watched Chubbuck expand creating new revenue, for its Citizens and Pocatello has to do the same in order for the city to economically grow. I want Pocatello citizens to have access to secure jobs that will provide a higher quality of life for their families. In addition, I want an open door policy of information, on key policies more public so citizens are more aware what is going on tin the community. This is one way elected official can get more feedback from the community.

  2. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT IS THE MAJOR ISSUE FACING POCATELLO?
One of the major issue facing Pocatello is affordable housing.

    (a)  HOW WOULD YOU ADDRESS THE ISSUE YOU JUST DESCRIBED?
I will assemble a team of qualified representatives to work out a plan to create new housing opportunities. If there is a surplus money in the budget, then this money could be allocated to refurbish hotels, worn down and closed buildings. Then the properties could be managed by established community housing programs. If there is no surplus money in the budget, then federal, state, or county housing grants will be researched and applied for.

  3. IF ELECTED, WHAT WILL YOUR FIRST PRIORITY BE?
The priority for me is to meet with the city attorney so I can be brought up to speed on city contracts.  To investigate how these contract work to support in the best interests of the community where the average mean of wage is 7.25 a hour.
