  1. WHY ARE YOU INTERESTED IN RUNNING FOR OFFICE FOR THE CITY OF POCATELLO?
I believe the governing body for Pocatello has lost it’s way.  For years the staus quo is that citizens come second, private interest comes first.  I will by action reintroduce to the citizens of Pocatello the term “public service,” placing the needs of Pocatello first, in the direction of a  profitable and sustainable future.  I will be proactive, forward thinking, in planning, developing, and following through with projects and programs for the citizens.

  2. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT IS THE MAJOR ISSUE FACING POCATELLO?
The lack of cohesive planning, projects are started then they lose momentum and are forgot about  until it’s too late, and then they are just cut or shut down.  There are no council liaisons from the council to department heads to keep the city council informed on pertinent issues in the city.

    (a)  HOW WOULD YOU ADDRESS THE ISSUE YOU JUST DESCRIBED?
Assign a council member to each department to oversee the department.  Meeting with the department on a monthly basis, then reporting back to council during study sessions on progress or needs of that department, achieving a true service to the city.  Holding each council member accountable for being informed and actively working for the citizens of Pocatello. I don’t know or I wasn’t aware shouldn’t be in a council members vocabulary.  It is our duty to be knowledgeable and informed to be effective and efficient.

  3. IF ELECTED, WHAT WILL YOUR FIRST PRIORITY BE?
When I am elected I will get myself aquatinted with all the information gathering resources at my disposal, so I will be informed and knowledgeable.  Which in turn will make me an effective and efficient council member.  Being able to plan, develop, and follow through with other council members so we as a collective body can can provide the public service the citizens of Pocatello deserve, it is my duty as an elected council member, which I will take personally to be accountable  for my actions.  To me this isn’t a game it’s a responsibility, that I am excited to be a part of.
