After spending over two decades serving both the four-legged and two-legged residents of Pocatello, Animal Services Director Mary Remer is stepping down.
In her honor, the City of Pocatello, Friends of the Pocatello Animal Shelter, and the Pocatello Animal Shelter Advisory Board are hosting an open house at the shelter (3100 Avenue of the Chiefs) December 15, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. The public is invited and encouraged to attend and refreshments will be provided.
“Mary has been a tireless advocate for the animals of East Idaho,” said Councilwoman Eva Nye. “We will truly miss her dedication to the job and wish her well as she closes her chapter in Pocatello.”
“I look forward to spending more time with my family but I will always look back at my time here and smile,” Remer said. “I’m proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish over these years and I would like to thank the City of Pocatello employees, shelter volunteers, the City Councils I’ve worked with, and residents for their support.”
Remer’s last day is December 23 and she plans on moving to the Midwest in January. For more information on Pocatello Animal Services visit, Pocatello.us/animal.
