‘Tis the season of giving and Saturday, December 19, 2015 the City of Pocatello Parks and Recreation Department will be lending a hand to The Idaho Foodbank.
From 2 to 4 p.m., the department, along with Dick’s Sporting Goods, will be hosting the annual “Holiday Hoopla” free throw shooting contest at the sporting good retailer’s Pocatello store. Competitors have one minute to make as many free throws as they can and participants are split into boys and girls categories with three division 8 to 9 years-old, 10 to 11 years-old, and 12 to 13 years-old. The cost is $3 per contestant and all proceeds will be donated to The Idaho Foodbank.
“Holiday Hoopla is an easy way to help people in need during the Holidays,” said Brian Lowman, Recreation Supervisor. “Not only do you support The Idaho Foodbank, but first place winners in each division will also get a gift card from Dick’s Sporting Goods.”
Registration forms will be available at Dick’s Sporting Goods, 1844 Hurley Drive, the day of the event. For more information, contact the Team Sports office at 234-6235.
