At this time there is no definitive connection between the diesel leak that occurred on Union Pacific property and the smell of fuel reported at locations around Pocatello.
This afternoon, crews from the Pocatello Fire Department and the Water Pollution Control Department tested manholes in the vicinity of the spill site and found no abnormal readings. There have also been no signs of hazardous materials in sewage entering the WPC facility today.
Officials will continue to monitor the situation and would like to remind residents that if they believe they are smelling fuel to evacuate the building and call 911.
