The Pocatello Animal Shelter will be closing its doors Thursday, June 2 for staff training.
Earlier this month, the shelter made the switch from a paper-based adoption process to a computerized process. The June 2 exercise will allow shelter staff to make improvements to the system after utilizing it for the past couple of weeks.
“By sitting down and getting feedback from employees, we can improve and adjust the process more to our specific needs,” said Richard Stewart, Animal Services Director. “In the end, it will amount to a smoother and faster adoption system for the public.”
During the closure, Animal Control Officers will still be available and can be reached at 234-6156. The shelter will reopen at 10 a.m. Friday, June 3.
Officials would like to thank the public for their understanding and apologize for any inconvenience the closure may cause.
