Mayor Blad Announces Short-List for Council Seat

Pocatello Mayor Brian Blad has narrowed down the field of potential new Council Members to nine. Tuesday, Mayor Blad announced the short list of candidates he will be interviewing for the City Council seat vacated by Craig Cooper. They are: Heidi Adamson Matthew Bloxham David Bowen Richard Cheatum Chris Cole William Downs M. Jeremy Field Mark Villano Ruby Walsh “I’d like to thank everyone who submitted an application,” said Mayor Blad. “It was a very strong pool of applicants to draw from and there were some fantastic ideas on how to tackle the issues facing the city. They made this part of the selection process extremely difficult and because of that I’m excited for where our city is headed.” After interviewing the nine candidates from the short-list, the Mayor will submit his final selection to the City Council for confirmation at a regular council meeting. Mayor Blad anticipates having the position filled later this summer. A total of 27 applications were submitted for the post. Once appointed, the new Council member will serve the remainder of Cooper’s term which ends in January 2018.
