Community Recreation Center Schedules Annual Maintenance Closure

Pocatello Community Recreation Center

Pocatello’s Community Recreation Center will be closed for annual maintenance later this month. Starting Monday, August 22, the center will close while staff upgrades and deep cleans the facility. A few projects on tap include painting throughout the building, thorough cleaning of the locker rooms and steam room, and maintenance on the fitness equipment, as well as a multitude of smaller projects. “We apologize to anyone who’s inconvenienced by the closure,” said Stacie VanKirk, Community Recreation Center Manager. “We’ve picked this time because late August is typically one of the slower times of the year for the facility.” Officials plan to reopen the Community Recreation Center Tuesday, September 6 but due to unforeseen circumstances, the date may be rescheduled. During the effort, the business offices housed in the building will remain open. Members will receive either a two-week pro-rate or two week extension on their membership and residents with questions are invited to contact Community Recreation Center staff at 232-3901.
