Pocatello and World Answers Call for Flag Designs

Pocatello

The City of Pocatello Flag Design Ad-Hoc Committee has been asking for your designs for Pocatello’s flag. It’s a call that’s been resoundingly answered from across the globe.

Last Friday marked the end of the submission period and all told, there are 709 official designs for the contest. The figure represents 514 entries from East Idaho, while 31 states and 26 countries from around the globe contributed.

“I would like to thank everyone who submitted a design and took the time to contribute to this historic effort for our city,” said Logan McDougall, Chair of the Flag Design Ad-Hoc Committee. “In the past three months, we’ve seen our city and this effort to go from worst to first discussed from Indonesia to Norway, across the United States, and everywhere in between.”

From here, the submissions will be passed on to a panel of experts who will be tasked with selecting the best to be brought back to the public for input. Using input from the public, the committee will go about designing or selecting a new flag that will be presented to the Pocatello City Council for adoption.
