Registration Open for 20th Annual “Run with the Big Dogs”

AnimalServicesRunBigDogs

After two decades, thousands of feet, and even more paws, the 20th Annual Run with the Big Dogs returns April 22.

The yearly event from The Friends of the Pocatello Animal Shelter features a 2K walk, 5K walk, and 5K run with proceeds supporting the many adoption programs at the shelter.

“Friends has been here to help the Pocatello Animal Shelter for many years and we’d like to thank them for that continued support,” said Kim Velman, Volunteer Coordinator. “With their help through events like Run with the Big Dogs, we’ve been able to help a countless number of dogs and cats. Last year alone, we were able to find homes for 1,772 animals.”

Currently, discounted registration is underway with adult registration (13 or older) costing $25 per participant while children’s registration (12 and under) is $15 per participant. Early registration closes Saturday, April 16. Participants can still register up until race day but after Saturday, April 16, the fee increases to $35 for adults and $25 for children.

Participants can register at the Pocatello Animal Shelter. Participants can save time by filling out the form found at pocatello.us/animal before turning it in at the shelter. Registration includes a t-shirt, bandana for the dog, and a doggy bag (while supplies last). Participants will also be entered for a chance to win one of many draw prizes.
