Local youth baseball and softball players, it’s time to prove your skills on the diamond.
Saturday, April 29 at 10 a.m. at the NOP Baseball Complex, the City of Pocatello Parks and Recreation Department along with Bannock Baseball will host the Scotts Major League Baseball Pitch Hit & Run competition. The event tests participants in the three core baseball and softball skills. Boys and girls are divided into four age divisions, 7 and 8-year-olds, 9 and 10-year-olds, 11 and 12-year-olds, and 13 and 14-year-olds.
Individual pitching, hitting, and running champions along with the all-around champion in each division age group will have the opportunity advance to the sectional level of the competition. The events will culminate during the 2017 Major League Baseball All-Star Week.
The competition is free and those interested in participating must have their parent or guardian fill out a registration/waiver form prior to the start of the event. For questions concerning the competition, contact Bannock Baseball President Virginia Thompson at 208-241-3090.
