Another channel is officially joining the Pocatello Community Media family.
On Friday June 9, at 8 a.m., the City’s Video Services Department, also known as Pocatello Community Media, will begin airing programming on Educational Access Channel 60. The channel was previously operated by Idaho State University.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to bring locally and regionally specific educational content to viewers,” said Logan McDougall, Public Information Officer/Video Services Director for the City of Pocatello. “We’re looking forward to showcasing programming that is focused on the area we call home.”
With the change, viewers will be able to watch content such as presentations to New Knowledge Adventures, the Idaho State University student-produced “Bengal Banter,” and senior-specific exercise program “Fit and Fall Proof.” The channel will also air documentaries that highlight topics of interest in Pocatello and East Idaho. As part of the switch, Pocatello/Chubbuck School District #25 School Board meetings will move from Government Access Channel 56 and now be aired on Channel 60.
In addition to operating the Educational Access and Government Access Channels, Pocatello Community Media also operates Community Access Channel 64.
