East Idaho Author to take Residents on “A Journey to the Source of the Ganges River”

A local author is set to take residents on a figurative trip up one of the world’s most famed rivers.

Monday, June 19 at 7 p.m., the Marshall Public Library will host Dr. Debu Majumdar who will be presenting “A Journey to the Source of the Ganges River.” The slideshow presentation is based on Dr. Majumdar’s novel “Sacred River: A Himalayan Journey.” The book weaves together “three stories that initially flow independently but come together at a Hindu temple in Gangotri on the bank of the Ganges River in the Himalayas.” The book was the 2016 Somerset Literary Award winner in Adventure/Suspense category.
