To help in the fight against hunger, all you have to do is sink a few baskets.Saturday, December 16 from 2-4 p.m. at Dick’s Sporting Goods, the City of Pocatello Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Holiday Hoopla free throw shooting competition to benefit The Idaho Foodbank. The timed contest is $3 per turn and participants are invited to make as many free throws as possible in one minute.“Contestants can take as many turns as they like,” said Brian Lowman, Team Sports Supervisor. “If your first round looks like something Shaq would do, another $3 will get you a chance to channel your inner Kobe and all the money goes to support a good cause.”Competitors will be grouped in boys’ and girls’ categories with three divisions 8 to 9-years-old, 10 to 11-years-old and 12 to 13-years-old. The winner in each division will receive a $50 Dick’s Sporting Goods gift card. In the case of a tie, the shooter with the best free throw percentage will be deemed the winner.
