Pocatello Police K-9 Team to Host Idaho Police Canine Association Conference

This May the Pocatello Police Department’s K-9 Team will host their counterparts from across the Gem State.

From May 7 to May 11, more than 50 K-9 teams will converge in Pocatello for the Idaho Police Canine Association’s conference. The event features practical training and classroom courses to help officers and canines improve their skills. The conference wraps up with a trials competition, testing the dogs’ abilities in agility, suspect apprehension, and odor detection.

Currently, Pocatello Police officers are seeking items from local businesses to be used as raffle prizes for attending officers and their canine partners as well as a “swag bag” for attendees. Previous conferences have seen items such as dog toys, coupons, and t-shirts included.

Interested businesses are asked to contact Officer Sean Peterson at 208-234-6142 or by email at for details.
