Century High School Freshman to be Next Mayor for a Day

A Diamondback will be the Gate City’s next Mayor for a Day.

February 26, Century High School freshman Lilly Miron will assume the role of the City’s chief executive for the day. Miron’s term will begin around 8:30 a.m. and wrap up around 1:30 p.m. Currently on the schedule is a meeting with Pocatello Police Chief Scott Marchand, the Mayor’s quarterly employee communication meeting, and a taping of “Calling City Hall.”

Miron currently serves as the freshman class president and is also involved in the drama program. School officials describe her as a future leader and being very accomplished academically.

During the school year, a new Mayor for a Day is chosen from the city’s middle and high schools once a month. The selection is made by the school and a different school is represented each month.
