Every year city departments are required to present a performance report to the Mayor, City Council and citizen stakeholders (Service Level Report). Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the departments discuss their mission, financial inputs, workload outputs, measures of efficiency & effectiveness (including comparisons to other cities & industry norms), results and their issues and concerns for the future.


HOW TO OBTAIN A FIRE PERMIT

 

BURNING PERMITS
Open burning in Pocatello requires a burning permit; except cooking or warming fires. Burn permits may be purchased at Fire Station #1, 408 E. Whitman, Pocatello. The cost is $5.00.
 
OTHER PERMITS ISSUED BY THE PFD

Solid Fuel Burning Appliance inspections
$25.00 Inspection of Solid Fuel burning appliances for new installation or existing appliance.
 
Flow Testing
$50.00 Water Supply (hydrant flow) Testing, each hydrant.
 
Fireworks

$50.00 Retail sale of “safe & sane” fireworks and firework stand inspection.

 

Flammable and Combustible Materials Storage Tanks

$50.00 Underground Storage Tank Technician Certification for 1 year. Application required.

$100.00 Inspection for the installation, alteration or removal of a tank used for the storage of hazardous materials, to include flammable and combustible materials.

$50.00 Inspection for the installation or alterations of equipment used in connection with the handling, use or sale of flammable or combustible materials.

$50.00 Permit and inspection for the installation, removal, or abandonment of residential fuel/oil tanks.

 
Aircraft Refueling
$100.00 Permit for the operation of aircraft refueling vehicles for 1 year. Application Required.

$20.00 Aircraft Refueller Certification for 1 year. Application Required.
 
Life Safety Systems
Insurance, Bond and Certification Qualifications apply.

$50.00 - $150.00 Plan review fee for fire alarm systems.

$50.00 Permit to install or modify a fire alarm system.

$50.00 Permit to install or modify commercial kitchen suppression system.

$50.00 Permit to install or modify a private fire service main including main lines supplying hydrants, standpipes or sprinkler systems.

$50.00 Permit to install or modify an automatic sprinkler system including standpipe.

$50.00 Permit to install or modify standpipes without automatic sprinkler system.

$50.00 Permit to install or modify a fire pump or related equipment.

$50.00 Permit to install or modify a special hazard system.

$50.00 Permit to service and maintain fire extinguishers for 1 year.
