Every year city departments are required to present a performance report to the Mayor, City Council and citizen stakeholders (Service Level Report). Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the departments discuss their mission, financial inputs, workload outputs, measures of efficiency & effectiveness (including comparisons to other cities & industry norms), results and their issues and concerns for the future.


POCATELLO FIRE DEPARTMENT MISSION



The Pocatello Fire Department's (PFD) mission is to help people. We are dedicated to preserving life and property through prevention and professional, compassionate response. We strive to reduce loss of life and property through innovative approaches, technology, informed decisions, high standards, fiscal responsibility and collaborative relationships.

PFD OPERATIONS

The Pocatello Fire Department operates 24 hour service for the citizens and visitors of the Pocatello area out of five fire stations.

Station #1: Engine 1* and Ambulance 1(ALS) staffed by 5 firefighters 2
Station #2: Engine 2** staffed by 3 firefighters 2
Station #3: Engine 3*** and Ambulance 3 (ALS) staffed by 5 firefighters 2
Station #4: Engine 4 (Airport Crash Rescue) staffed by 1 firefighter
Station #5: Rescue 5*** staffed by 3 firefighters

Notes:
* Can deploy as a Basic Life Support (BLS) reserve ambulance in stead of an engine.
** Represents minimum staffing levels. 21 firefighters are regularly assigned.
*** Station #5 can deploy as a BLS reserve ambulance or engine depending on the situation.

PFD APPARATUS

The Pocatello Fire Department apparatus is comprised of 4 pumper trucks in front-line service, 1 rescue unit, 1 aerial ladder truck, 1 airport rescue truck, 4 brush rigs, 4 pumpers in reserve, 1 hazardous materials emergency response vehicle, 2 ALS ambulances, 5 BLS reserve ambulances, and 2 ambulances in South Bannock County – Lava and Downey.
