The City Planning and Development Services, in conjunction with the City Planning & Zoning Commission, held two open house public meetings (May 8 & Jun 12, 2013) to present background information and to provide the public with the opportunity to ask questions and comment on updating the City's “Our Valley – Our Vision” 2003 Comprehensive Plan.

| ABOUT THE PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT |

| The Planning & Development Services Department is composed of the Planning Services Division and the Neighborhood & Community Services Division and the Development Engineering Services Division. The department is charged with overseeing the orderly growth and development of Pocatello. |
| |
| The Planning & Development Services Department's reponsibilities include but are not limited to: |
| |
Collection of data and the presentation of reports or studies pertinent to a multitude of land use decisions. |
| |
| Preparation and administration of the City's Comprehensive Plan, and Zoning, Subdivision, and Sign Ordinances (see City Code Chapter 17) |
| |
|
Completion of special projects as assigned by the Mayor or City Council. |

| Staff support and coordination with the following organizations for the betterment of the community: |
