Every year city departments are required to present a performance report to the Mayor, City Council and citizen stakeholders (Service Level Report). Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the departments discuss their mission, financial inputs, workload outputs, measures of efficiency & effectiveness (including comparisons to other cities & industry norms), results and their issues and concerns for the future.


DROP-OFF RECYCLING PROGRAM

There are three full service drop-off points for your recyclable items located throughout Pocatello. Each of these sites accepts newspaper, junk mail, magazines, telephone books, office paper, milk jugs, plastic bottles, tin cans, aluminum cans and cardboard. These sites include:


1. Pocatello City Hall at 911 N. 7th - (On the Map)
2. Ridley's Market Place at 911 N. Main - (On the Map)
3. ISU NE Corner of Holt Arena on Stacy Dragila Way - (On the Map)


The following drop-off recycling sites only accept newspaper and cardboard.


1. K-Mart at 3945 Pole Line Rd. - (On the Map)
2. Sister Cities Park at Pocatello Creek Road - (On the Map)

 

 

HELPFUL RECYCLING HINTS
NEWSPAPER Anything that comes with the newspaper is accepted
JUNK MAIL Any type of junk mail can be recycled in the newspaper bins
MAGAZINES Magazines are recycled in the newspaper bins
TELEPHONE BOOKS Telephone books are recycled in the newspaper bins
OFFICE PAPER Office paper may be recycled in the newspaper bins. No shredded paper
MILK JUGS Any type of plastic milk jug is accepted. Please crush the jugs flat to make more room in the bin
PLASTIC BOTTLES All plastics are accepted. Please crush the bottles flat to make more room in the bin.
TIN CANS Cans that food comes in are usually the only type we can accept. Paint cans, buckets, etc. are not acceptable.
ALUMINUM CANS Any type of aluminum beverage container is acceptable. Aluminum foil is also accepted.
CARDBOARD All cardboard is accepted at this time. Please break boxes down flat.
WASTE OIL Waste oil is accepted at the Grease Monkey location at 710 W. Quinn and Checker Auto Parts at 4907 N. Yellowstone.
PACKING PEANUTS Styrofoam packing peanuts may be recycled at The UPS Store locations at 775 Yellowstone and 360 S. 4th as well as The Box Stop at 2990 Pole Line Road.
ELECTRONIC WASTE Old computers, color monitors, printers, scanners, fax machines, telephones and cell phones may be recycled at the Sanitation Department shop located at 1121 S. Second.
   

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER IS TO PLACE YOUR ITEMS IN THE CORRECT BIN AND CRUSH THE BOTTLES FLAT TO MAKE MORE ROOM IN THE BOX.
