Every year city departments are required to present a performance report to the Mayor, City Council and citizen stakeholders (Service Level Report). Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the departments discuss their mission, financial inputs, workload outputs, measures of efficiency & effectiveness (including comparisons to other cities & industry norms), results and their issues and concerns for the future.


RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL COLLECTION SERVICES & RATES


The Sanitation department provides city utility customers one green 96-gallon can for refuse collection. The carts are emptied once a week. If you are unsure of your collection day check the online collection schedule map or call us at 208-234-6192.


CART BASIC DO's

 

DO bag your trash to reduce litter
DO place your cart at the curb , not on the sidewalk , by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day, with the handles facing your home
DO make sure your cart is away from parked vehicles, mailboxes, and other obstacles
DO remove your cart from the curb and return it to your storage area on the same day it is emptied

 

CART BASIC DON'Ts

 

DO NOT use any container, other than city-provided carts, for refuse collection. garbage cans, boxes, and other receptacles will not be picked up.
DO NOT overfill your cart. The lid must be closed in order for your cart to be emptied.
DO NOT put hot ashes, cinders, coals, or any other burning material in your cart.
DO NOT put rocks, building materials, toxic or hazardous material in your cart.
DO NOT block the sidewalk with your cart.
DO NOT leave your cart at the curb after it is emptied.
DO NOT block access to your cart with your car.
DO NOT take the cart with you when you move.

 

COMMERCIAL SERVICES


The Sanitation Department has 3-cubic yard metal containers and 96-gallon plastic carts available for commercial solid waste disposal. Rates are based on the type, number of containers, and the frequency of service.
