WPC
Every year city departments are required to present a performance report to the Mayor, City Council and citizen stakeholders (Service Level Report). Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the departments discuss their mission, financial inputs, workload outputs, measures of efficiency & effectiveness (including comparisons to other cities & industry norms), results and their issues and concerns for the future.


WATER POLLUTION CONTROL EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Interest in Water Pollution Control from schools and civic groups for educational information concerning environmental and conservation issues has led to the the department to offer guided tours and a River Rangers program targeting elementary school children.


Guided Tours


In response to the publics large interest in environmental and conservation information and education, WPC offers guided tours of the treatment plant to civic groups, schools, and universities. The presentations are provided by certified WPC employees at the treatment plant. The tours educate and increase the awareness of the public of the WPC goals to keep water clean and conserve the water we now have. For elementary school children, the River Rangers program is available. River Rangers


River Rangers targets the elementary school children interested in learning more about the environment and conservation. The presentations are provided by certified WPC employees in local classrooms. The children will receive coloring books, stickers and pins that help them educate the adults in their lives to be aware of the River Rangers goals to keep water clean and conserve the water we now have. For the older students, guided tours ofthe treatment plant are available.
