Garbage is collected curbside from your autocart once a week as specified by the Garbage Collection Map (PDF) and summarized below. Recycling autocarts are collected on the same day but every other week as specified by the Curbside Recycling Schedule (PDF).

2019 Holiday Collection Schedule
The Sanitation Department will work all 2019 holidays with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day of 2020.

Annual Leaf Pickup | November 4–30 | Leaves will be collected curbside in compostable bags only. Please place leaves at the curb on your residential collection day by 7:00 a.m. to ensure collection. |
Thanksgiving | November 28 | No change Monday–Wednesday. Thursday will be picked up on Friday, and Friday will be picked up on Saturday. |
Christmas | December 25 | Regular pickup on Monday; no pickup on Tuesday. Tuesday pickup on Wednesday; Wednesday pickup on Thursday; Thursday pickup on Friday; Friday pickup on Saturday. |
Christmas Overflow | December 26–31 | Overflow items will be collected that are sitting in bags or boxes by the garbage cart on the normal collection day. These items will be put into the landfill and will not be recycled. CHRISTMAS TREES WILL NOT BE COLLECTED CURBSIDE. |

* Christmas trees will be collected at bins from December 26 through January 8 at City Hall, Rainey Park, and the entrance to Sister City Park. Trees will be chipped and used for ground cover or other projects throughout the year—not placed in the landfill. Please make sure no wires or strings are attached to trees placed in the bins to avoid damage to the chipper. Christmas trees will NOT be collected curbside. Christmas tree recycling is offered through a cooperation between the City of Pocatello Sanitation Department and the City of Pocatello Parks and Recreation Department.
