Private/Semi-Private Swim Lessons COVID-19 Protocols
- Instructors, participants, and their families should self-monitor and stay at home if they have any COVID-19-like illness symptoms. Symptoms can include fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills or shaking chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, and new loss of taste or smell. Symptoms may also include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and body aches. Not all people will have all symptoms.
- Instructors, participants, and their parents may not enter the recreational area if either they or a household member has had onset of illness with symptoms compatible with, suspected, or lab-confirmed COVID-19 in the prior 14 days.
- Instructors will perform a health check with the parents to make sure their household has not been experiencing any symptoms. Participants will be rescheduled as needed.
- Instructors, participants, and parents are required to wear a cloth facial covering or mask while entering and moving about in the Community Recreation Center, as well as while remaining in the recreational/private swim lesson area.
NOTE: Participants will not be allowed to wear masks once they enter the water. - Instructors will wear plastic chin to nose half-face shields to prevent breathing directly onto a participant.
- Instructors will use teaching aids as much as possible to place distance between themselves and the participant, all the while maintaining safety measures.
- Staff will enforce that each participant only be accompanied by 1 (one) parent and that they (parents) remain masked while in the facility.
- Participants and instructors shall sanitize their hands before entering and as they exit the pool area. (Sanitizer station located at the door).
- Private lessons will be limited to 1 child.
- Semi-private lessons will be limited to one family unit (2 children maximum).
- Private lesson instructors will be responsible for social distancing in the pool area to ensure they remain 6 feet away from other pool users.
- Instructors shall, after each lesson, disinfect items used during their private lessons.
- All instructors, participants, and parents are encouraged to use proper respiratory etiquette by covering their nose and mouth with a tissue or using their sleeve if coughing or sneezing.
