POCATELLO REGIONAL AIRPORT COMMISSION UPDATE

Representatives from the Pocatello Regional Airport Commission will discuss the Commission’s goals and projects, as well as Council’s policies and expectations. (ACTION ITEM)

POCATELLO DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY UPDATE

Representatives from Pocatello Development Authority (PDA) will discuss the PDA’s goals and projects, as well as Council’s policies and expectations. (ACTION ITEM)
4.

FIRE UNION QUARTERLY UPDATE

Members of the Pocatello Fire Union will give the Council an update of their activities for the past quarter. (ACTION ITEM)
5.

BANNOCK DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION UPDATE

John Regetz, Bannock Development Corporation (BDC) Executive Director, will be present to give Council an update of BDC’s activities and achievements. (ACTION ITEM)
6.

TNR GRANT UPDATE

City staff will be available to give an update on a proposed Trap/Neuter/Release Program (TNR) grant that was discussed at the September 12, 2019 Work Session. Legal Department staff has reviewed the grant documents and staff will be available to answer Council’s questions regarding the grant. Staff is also seeking direction from the Council whether to apply/accept the TNR grant. (ACTION ITEM)

POLICE DEPARTMENT VEHICLES LEASE PROPOSAL

Police Department staff will be available to discuss the proposed lease purchase of ten (10) fully-equipped vehicles through Bancorp. Staff is seeking Council guidance to lease the vehicles from Bancorp as a sole source provider. (ACTION ITEM)

2020 COPS HIRING PROGRAM GRANT

Police Department staff will be available to discuss the availability of a 2020 COPS Hiring Program (CHP) Grant. The grant objective is to increase the capacity of law enforcement agencies to implement community policing strategies that strengthen partnerships for safer communities. Staff is seeking Council guidance to pursue the grant. (ACTION ITEM)

ROSS PARK AQUATICS COMPLEX – POOL AND BUILDING HEATERS PROPOSAL

Parks and Recreation Department staff will be in attendance to provide an overview of the current status of large area pool heaters and main building water heaters at the Ross Park Aquatics Complex. Staff is recommending the re-purposing of available pool resurfacing resources to address the pool heater and main building water heater needs. Council consideration and direction regarding the proposed repairs is being sought. The pool and main building heater needs have quickly risen to a much higher level of priority than resurfacing of the remaining pool areas due to condition and age. (ACTION ITEM)

RELIGHT THE NIGHT – BUSTER BROWN SIGN PROJECT

Relight the Night (RTN) representatives and City staff will give an update regarding a refurbished Historic Buster Brown Sign project for the Old Town Pocatello area.  RTN representatives are requesting the following regarding the sign project:  1) City accept the parcel of property from RTN-Old Town Pocatello; 2) Waive the fees for splitting of the parcel and deed work; 3) Allow RTN to place the sign on the parcel at no expense to the City; and 4) City accept the sign upon completion of the project.
