The City of Pocatello Street Operations Department has released its list of roads that will be seeing maintenance this year.
Recently, the department announced its 2019 Pavement Management Plan. The plan details which roads in the Gate City should be resurfaced or receive a fog seal, chip seal, or a micro-seal treatment. In total, crews are planning to treat 33.93 miles of road in Pocatello this year.
“We are always focused on treating roads at the right time and with the right treatment,” said Tom Kirkman, Deputy Public Works Director. “By specifically targeting streets, we’re able to stretch each dollar further and ensure we get the maximum amount of life out of our investment.”
The plan is available to view at pocatello.us/ArchiveCenter/ViewFile/Item/906.
Over the last three years, 103.67 miles of Pocatello’s streets have been treated. In total, the Street Operations Department is responsible for maintaining over 260 miles of road in Pocatello.
While the plan is a guide for work that should be completed, officials would like to remind residents that unforeseen circumstances or inclement weather could lead to projects being postponed or canceled.
