Pocatello Animal Services Drops Cat Adoption Prices through July 9

Adoptable cats at the Pocatello Animal Shelter

Adding a friendly feline to your family will be easier on your wallet over the next couple of months.

From now through July 9, cat and kitten adoptions will be more than half-off. Cats can be adopted for $25 while kittens can join their forever family for $35. The reduced price is thanks to The Friends of the Pocatello Animal Shelter picking up the remainder of the tab that is typically $90. The price of adoption includes vaccinations, licensing, collar, spay or neuter surgery, and a microchip for permanent identification.

“This is the time of year when we see the most cats and kittens,” said Shaila McGuire, Volunteer Coordinator. “Whether you’re looking for a cat that will cuddle or a kitten that will play constantly, we have cats and kittens for every lifestyle.”

During the month of May, the department is also offering half-price dog licenses. Licenses are $5 for dogs that are spayed or neutered and $10 for dogs that are not spayed or neutered. Licenses can be purchased at the Pocatello Animal Shelter, City of Pocatello Mayor’s Office, and local veterinary offices.
