Open House Planned for City of Pocatello Garrett Way Facility

The public is invited to get an inside look at the new home of the City of Pocatello’s Street Operations, Sanitation, and Fleet Services Departments.

Thursday, July 25 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., at 2405 Garrett Way, the departments will host an open house at the new facility. The Pocatello Chiefs will get the event started with a ribbon cutting at 2 p.m. and after the ribbon cutting, attendees can tour the building with officials on-hand to answer questions.

“By combining the three departments into one location, we are able to benefit from economies of scale for things such as overhead costs and bulk purchasing,” said Tom Kirkman, Deputy Public Works Director.

The property was purchased in 2018 and spans over eight acres, features 78,000 square feet between three buildings, and includes 16 overhead cranes.
