Friends of the Pocatello Animal Shelter Adds More Awnings to Shelter Dog Runs

A dog plays in one of the dog runs at the Pocatello Animal Shelter.

Prospective pet parents looking to play with a possible new furry family member outside the Pocatello Animal Shelter now have another spot out of the elements.

Through a $6,350 donation from The Friends of the Pocatello Animal Shelter and a $500 grant from the Allstate Foundation, another awning was installed over three of the shelter’s dog runs.

“Thank you to The Friends of the Pocatello Animal Shelter for their continuous and generous support,” said Ron Knapp, Interim Animal Services Director. “This project would not have been possible without them.”

Last year, the Friends helped to purchase awnings for five of the shelter’s dog runs.

The Friends of the Pocatello Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) organization and for more information on the group, visit pocatelloshelterfriends.org.
