Shepard Withdraws From Pocatello Mayoral Race

A candidate for Pocatello Mayor has withdrawn from the race.

Today, Pocatello City Clerk Ruth Whitworth announced that Paul Shepard has bowed out of the City’s November General Election. Shepard submitted his withdrawal of declaration of candidacy Thursday afternoon. By submitting the form, he is officially withdrawn from the election process but his name will still appear on the ballot as the official deadline to withdraw passed September 25.

Shephard’s decision leaves six candidates vying for the Mayor position. Those candidates are Tammy L. Bartlett, Brian C. Blad, Chad Horst, Jamie Hudson, Sam Laoboonmi, and S Idaho Lorax Carta.

Early voting begins October 10 and Election Day is November 7. For more information on early voting, visit
