Pocatello Police Remind Residents to Lock Vehicles During Holidays

The holidays are nearly here and the officers with the Pocatello Police Department are spreading a few tips to prevent a Grinch from ruining your Christmas cheer.

Officers would like to remind residents to lock the doors of their vehicles when they are at home and when they are out doing their holiday shopping.

“Criminals are primarily opportunists,” said Lieutenant Ian Nelson with the Pocatello Police Department. “If they see a car with an unlocked door or a vehicle with a window that is cracked open that has merchandise in it, they’ll spring at the chance to make away with your stuff.”

If you do have to leave valuables in a vehicle, lock it in your trunk or place the item out of sight.
