Eighth-grader Savanah Call will be the latest student to serve Pocatello as the city’s Mayor for a Day.

While on the job, Savanah will accompany Mayor Brian Blad in managing the day-to-day happenings of the City. Savanah’s term on December 18 will begin around 9 a.m. and wrap up close to 1:30 p.m.

The school selected Savanah after taking nominations from teachers. Savanah received multiple nominations saying she is a “great citizen, good student, and cares about other kids.”

The city’s middle and high schools chose a new Mayor for a Day once a month. The school makes the selection and a different school is represented each month.
