Historic Preservation Comm., ISU History Dept. to Host Symposium

HPCSymposium2018

In April, you will have a chance to delve deep into the past of Pocatello.

Saturday, April 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Pocatello Historic Preservation Commission and the Idaho State University Department of History will hold the “Historic Pocatello” symposium. Topics slated for discussion include Pocatello’s Carnegie Library, the Stedtfeld family, the glory days of the Union Pacific Railroad Station, and an update from members of Relight the Night.

“Pocatello has an amazing and interesting history,” said Terri Neu, Staff Liaison to the Pocatello Historic Preservation Commission. “People sometimes think of their hometown as a place that never changes. Through these presentations, you’ll learn that couldn’t be further from the truth.”

The talks are free and open to the public. The talks will happen in the Wood River room of the Pond Student Union Building.

A full list of topics is available at pocatello.us/DocumentCenter/View/4435.
