Members of the Pocatello/Chubbuck Mayors’ Youth Advisory Council are set to get an insider’s look on how the City of Pocatello operates.

Tuesday, April 17 the City will host members of the council for Youth in Government Day. The event allows the students to visit three of the City’s departments for a look at their day-to-day operations.

“We’re excited to have the Youth Council members join us for a hands-on experience in local government,” said Mayor Brian Blad. “They will have opportunities to interact with the animals at the shelter and zoo, help prepare for our Environmental Fair and operate equipment.”

The departments the students are scheduled to visit were chosen by the members of the Youth Advisory Council.
