Free Admission to Zoo Idaho June 2

Thanks to Connections Credit Union, you’ll be able to get into Zoo Idaho for free Saturday, June 2.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., zoo-goers will get to meet the zoo’s resident animals for no charge courtesy of the institution.

“If you haven’t stopped by Zoo Idaho in a while, Saturday is the perfect time,” said Peter Pruett, Zoo Idaho Superintendent. “Come take a look at all the changes we’ve made like the new bison, elk, and pronghorn exhibits as well as the progress on the home for Valkyrie, our bald eagle, and the wetland exhibit.

In addition to free admission, there will be a day of free activities at the zoo including:

Scavenger Hunt – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
BBQ – 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Gunnysack Races – 1 p.m.
Water Balloon Toss – 2 p.m.

“Thank you Connections Credit Union for helping put together what is sure to be a fun day at Zoo Idaho,” Pruett said.

Zoo Idaho is one of a handful of indigenous zoos in the United States. Zoo staff work directly with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service to acquire animals in need of rehabilitation and rescue. The majority of animals at Zoo Idaho would be unable to thrive in the wild.
