2018 City of Pocatello Water Quality Report Released

A look at what is in Pocatello’s drinking water is available to the public.

Recently, staff with the City of Pocatello Water Department mailed close to 26,000 copies of its Annual Water Quality Report. The seven-page document summarizes the results of roughly 1,500 water quality tests conducted for over 100 different compounds over the last year. The report also details the source of Pocatello’s drinking water, what is in the water, and the types of risks the City’s testing and treatment prevent.

“Clean, safe drinking water is our most precious resource,” said Justin Armstrong, Water Department Superintendent. “The City of Pocatello Water Department continues to provide water that exceeds the standards of the State of Idaho and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.”

The testing of drinking water and annual report are a requirement of water utilities under the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act.

If you do not receive a report, copies can be picked up at the Water Operations Facility,1889 North Arthur Avenue; City Hall, 911 North 7th Avenue; or the Marshall Public Library, 113 South Garfield Avenue. A copy of the report can also be found online at
