Pocatello Police Receives Vests for Canines

The Pocatello Police Departments canine officers will be much safer, thanks to lifesaving pieces of equipment.

Recently, the department applied for and received a grant to purchase four ballistic vests to protect the police dogs. The vests were made possible by a grant from the Gavin Buchanan Memorial Foundation.

Tuesday, August 7 at 7:00 p.m. during the National Night Out celebration at 1020 McKinley Avenue, members of the foundation will be presenting the vests to officers.

The Gavin Buchanan Memorial Foundation raises money and awards grants for training, ballistic vests and other safety equipment for police canines.
