Pocatello Takes Second in 2018 Municipal Equality Index for Idaho

Pocatello continues to be a leader in the Gem State according to a new report from the Human Rights

Pocatello continues to be a leader in the Gem State according to a new report from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC).

Recently, the HRC released the 2018 Municipal Equality Index which rates cities around the nation “on 49 criteria covering citywide nondiscrimination protections, policies for municipal employees, city services” and more. This year’s report sees Pocatello scoring 71 out of 100, placing the Gate City just behind Boise among the municipalities rated in Idaho.

“Pocatello’s continued ranking on the index is no surprise to those who live here,” said Mayor Brian Blad. “We welcome and respect all individuals who chose to call our great city home.”

According to the HRC, the Municipal Equality Index “is the only nationwide rating system of LGBTQ inclusion in municipal law, policy and services.”
