Pocatello Animal Services Celebrating KONGmas for Second Year

Pocatello Animal Services’ different take on the Holidays is back. 


For the second year, the department is holding its Merry KONGmas Toy Drive. Shelter staff are looking for donations of the tough toys for the shelter’s dogs and peanut butter to be placed inside the toys. 


“Our goal is to have a KONG in every kennel,” said Danielle Garcia, Pocatello Animal Services Director. “The toys are great for all breeds because they come in many shapes and sizes, they are gentle on their teeth, and they keep the dogs busy and focused for hours, helping their physical as well as their mental well-being.”


Residents can purchase a toy at a local pet store and drop it off at the Pocatello Animal Shelter, 3100 Avenue of the Chiefs. Citizens can sponsor a pet for the holidays from one of the KONGmas trees located at area businesses. The trees can be found at:
