Smooches from Pooches: Dog-Kissing Booth Returns to Pocatello Animal Shelter

Pocatello Animal Services Volunteer Coordinator Shaila McGuire gets a kiss from Delta.

The pups at the Pocatello Animal Shelter are looking to give a little love in the lead up to Valentine’s Day.

Saturday, February 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the staff of Pocatello Animal Services will host a dog-kissing booth. People are invited to stop by the shelter, located at 3100 Avenue of the Chiefs, and get their picture taken while smooching with one of the shelter’s dogs or bring their own dog in for a kiss.

“We want to involve the community in a fun way that will not only benefit the shelter, but will give everyone sweet lasting memories with their animal too,” said Shaila McGuire, Volunteer Coordinator. “Maybe a few dogs and people will fall in love and these pets get to go to their forever home.”

Pictures are available for a donation of $3 and will be available for pickup February 14.

Shelter staff ask that all dogs brought to the shelter for a picture be current on their vaccines and on leashes.
