A renowned children’s author will be paying a visit to the Marshall Public Library.
Monday, March 4 at 4 p.m., the library will welcome Arthur Dorros for a reading from his works and a book signing. Dorros is an author and illustrator and is best known for his efforts on “Abuela,” “Abuelo,” “Papa and Me,” “Alligator Shoes,” and more. He has been honored for his work with the Pura Belpré Honor Book Award, Parent's Choice Award, and many others.
“Living in the West and having traveled a bit in the Pocatello area, I know it is a place of people with roots in a variety of backgrounds,” said Dorros. “I appreciate that the Bellon Visiting Author Series looks to open doors, and I know that each of you has exciting stories to tell. I look forward to spending time with everyone and getting to know more about what Pocatello is really like!”
“It will be well worth the effort to meet and listen to this fascinating author and illustrator,” said Becca Hyde, Early Literacy Librarian. “Mr. Dorros has traveled widely in South America and also lived there for a time. His knowledge of Spanish cultures will introduce you to a world beyond your doorstep.”
The event is part of the Bellon Visiting Author Series. The series will also feature Dorros reading his works at the Idaho State University College of Education Auditorium on March 5 at 4 p.m. and the Portneuf District Library on March 6 at 4 p.m.
