Tournament Fever Comes to the Marshall Public Library

The "Marshall Madness" bracket at the Marshall Public Library.

Some of the year’s best college basketball is just a couple of weeks away and the Marshall Public Library is starting up a tournament of its own.

This week, the library tipped off its “Marshall Madness” tournament. For 2019, 52 authors have been organized into 4 teams: Classics, Nonfiction, Youth, and Series. From there, residents will vote and authors with the fewest votes will be removed from their team week by week, with an overall winner crowned April 1.

"The librarians have a favorite author or two in the tournament," said Becky Hadley, Lead Circulation Librarian. "It will be interesting to see which authors residents vote for and fun to see which one takes the top spot.”

Voters can submit their ballot at marshallpl.org, on the Marshall Public Library Facebook page at facebook.com/marshallpl, and in person at the library, 113 South Garfield Avenue.
