April 20 is set to be proclaimed as Arbor Day in Pocatello.
At Thursday’s Pocatello City Council meeting, Mayor Brian Blad will issue the proclamation to be read by Councilwoman Heidi Adamson. The proclamation urges “all citizens to celebrate Arbor Day and to support efforts to protect our trees and woodlands.” Further, it encourages “all citizens to plant and care for trees to gladden the heart and promote the well being of this and future generations.”
The edict will be accepted by Gerry Bates from the Idaho Community Forestry Program. Gerry will also present the Tree City USA Award to the Council.
Thursday’s meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
