Pocatello of yesteryear will be in the limelight at the Pocatello Historic Preservation Commission’s annual conference.

Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the group and the Idaho State University Department of History will host their annual conference, “Historic Pocatello: People and Places.” This year sees topics ranging from the life of Academy Award winning costume designer and Pocatellan Edward Stevenson, to Pocatello’s Triangle Neighborhood, as well as New Deal Era Architecture on the Idaho State University campus, and more. The keynote speaker will be Randy Dixon, Chair of the Relight the Night Committee, who will discuss the neon sign relighting efforts in Pocatello.

“There are a variety of topics that should be of interest for many people,” said Terri Neu, Staff Liaison. “Attendees will have a chance to learn about a wide range of times and people in Pocatello’s rich history.”

The talks are free and open to the public. The talks will happen in the Wood River Room of the Pond Student Union Building.
