  1. Stand-Up Paddle Board Fitness

    July 23, 2021, 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM @ Portneuf Wellness Complex

    Join us for 12 sessions of stand up paddle boarding on the Bannock Reservoir at the Wellness Complex. Boards and paddles will be provided. We will offer open paddle boarding time (do as you wish) from 8-9am and an organized fitness session which may include yoga, intervals, strength or other group activities from 9-10am. Participation is sold in 1 hour increments as daily drop-in fee or by punch card. When equipment runs low punch card holders will have priority. Punch cards will be sold on-site or may be pre-purchased at the Community Recreation Center, 144 Wilson Ave. through June 7th. Pre-purchase quantities are limited.

    It can be hard to figure out what to do with kids during the summer that are too old for daycare and too young to be left unsupervised every day. We take kids from 8-5 and go out in the community to do a different outdoor activity each day. Activities include rock climbing, swimming, biking, hiking, tubing, museums, canoeing, disc golf and more. The Teen program features an overnight raft trip. The Tween program has a raft trip done in a single day. This is a great chance to unplug from devices for a day or two. Tweens can sign up for Mondays, Wednesdays or both and Teens can sign up for Tuesdays, Thursdays or both. PARENT MEETING: Via YouTube Video

  4. Introduction to Inflatable Kayaking

    July 27, 2021, 5:30 PM @ Portneuf Wellness Complex

    Inflatable kayaking is much easier to learn than its hard shell cousins. The equipment is affordable, easy to transport and easy to store. Take this 3-part class to better understand the benefits, limitations, uses and skills necessary for inflatable kayaking. Each class is half-instructional and half-practical application on the water. Instructions to each location will be given to participants via email. Part 1 a flat-water experience with equipment and paddle basics held at the wellness complex. Skills include assorted paddle strokes, getting in and out and equipment selection. Part 2 is moving water fundamentals on an easier stretch or water. Skills include eddy hopping, ferries and bracing. Location: TBA depending on flow. Part 3 is held on faster moving water and includes obstacle avoidance, running small rapids and evaluating rapids from the bank. Location: TBA depending on flow. You can skip a basic session for the advanced stuff with instructor approval.

  7. Session 2: Youth Rock Climbing Lessons

    July 29, 2021, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ Ross Park

    Kids come and hang out at Ross Park with instructors who know how to make the day fun and keep little hands busy on the rocks. Our system maximizes time in the rocks and minimizes time spent in lines. Teens learn to belay one on one and begin to build anchors. Once you are comfortable with Ross Park check out the City of Rocks trips. Feel free to sign up for multiple sessions. Classes are limited to 25 kids.

  8. Beginning Backpacking

    July 30, 2021 - August 1, 2021 @ Ross Park Shop

    Beginning backpacking is designed to get people who have never been into the backcountry out for a 2-night wilderness experience. The group meets to discuss equipment and expectations well in advance to give everyone time to boost their fitness and go shopping. The exact route is not determined until the group gets together but expect reasonable mileage, a lake and 4 hours of van time on each end. The cost covers transportation, permits and parking, wag bags and group gear like water treatment. It does not cover food, camping equipment and Sherpas. More experienced participants are welcome.

  1. Youth Flag Football Registration

    July 12, 2021 - August 6, 2021 @ Community Recreation Center

    The League’s purpose is to prepare the participants for Little League Football (5th grade). Players will be taught the basic fundamentals and techniques of football. Teams will be organized to play “11 Man” football. Teams must have at least 20 players with a max of 22 players. Teams are supervised by volunteer coaches at all practices and games. Participants must be in the 3rd or 4th grade as of September 2021. Team jerseys are included in the registration cost. Games are played Monday – Wednesday at 5:40 or 6:50 p.m.

  2. Adult Flag Football Registration

    This is a 7-on-7 passing league played on a 80-yard football field. Teams play eight league games on Mondays and Wednesdays. All players must sign a roster before participating. Three officials are provided per game.

  3. Adult Women's Volleyball Registration

    Bump, set, and spike……Grab some friends and stay active throughout the season. This adult women’s volleyball program is a weeknight (TU&TH) program available for ages 16 years and older. Games will be played at 7:30, 8:30, and 9:30pm. If there is enough interest and enough teams, we will offer a competitive division and a recreational division. Team rosters will only be accepted with the team fee and signed roster.

    Men’s and Coed weeknight (M-TH) softball league for those 18yrs and older. The league is open to both competitive and recreational division teams.
