  1. Discounted Nordic Center Annual Passes Available

    October 1, 2017 - October 31, 2017 @ East Fork Mink Creek Nordic Center

    Discounted annual passes for the East Fork Mink Creek Nordic Center are available during the month of October. Located just 7 miles outside of Pocatello, East Mink Creek Nordic Center is a quality ski and snowshoe area. It hosts approximately 20K of groomed classic and skate trails. The Nordic Center is operated by the City of Pocatello through a special use permit with the United States Forest Service and through volunteer services of the Pocatello Cross-Country Ski Foundation (PXCSF). For updated information visit pokyxc.org. The area is staffed from 9am-3pm Monday-Thursday and 9am-5pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Skiers may use the trails at any time during the season by purchasing a season pass or by using the fee box at the parking lot. The full service rental center is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday 9-5 throughout the season. The season typically runs from mid-December through late March.

  2. Yurt Rental Season Begins

    October 1, 2017, All Day @ East Fork Mink Creek Nordic Center

    Come stay the evening or overnight in our Mongolian snow huts. The Yurt has a wood stove for warmth and picnic tables. Storage cubbies double as beds when unstacked. They are perfect for scout outings, family camping trips, and evening potluck dinners. There is no running water or electricity. The Yurt is less than 100 yards from the parking lot. Trail passes are not included in your rental fee.

  3. Ski for Free Day

    January 6, 2018, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM @ East Fork Mink Creek Nordic Center

    Come to our season kick-off event! Use our rental equipment at no charge or bring your own to avoid delays. Trail passes are free for the day and volunteer instructors give free mini lessons. We can equip about 80 people at a time, but we have run low on popular sizes in the past. Consider renting in advance from a ski shop in Pocatello to guarantee a stress-free day. Snowshoes are also available.

  4. Backcountry Early Season Refresher

    Come to the Nordic Center to find hidden beacons, practice probing, assembling your shovel and get some broad avalanche refresher information. It is always good to tune up skills before heading deep into the winter landscape. Bring a snack and your own beverages. Dress to be outside in the winter.

  11. Thor Mountain Obstacle Race

    September 29, 2018, All Day @ East Fork Mink Creek Nordic Center

    THOR is a 10K mountain obstacle race. Face down 20 obstacles as you run or hike the 6.2 mile course on the East Mink Creek Nordic Ski trails. Test your balance, strength, endurance, agility and mental toughness. You can race as a team of 4 or as a solo participant. Race start times are staggered through the morning until 1p.m. Start times are offered based on who is registered first. Obstacles usually have a hard way and an easier way and if you complete every hard obstacle you are awarded THOR status.
